JCQ-10 surge arrester monitor
The JCQ-10 surge arrester on-line monitor (on-line monitoring device) is used to record in real time the number of arrester operations and the amplitude of the lightning current; it is installed in series with the arrester in the earthing circuit. With a built-in LCD digital display, the number of operations and the current peak (kA) of the latest operation can be read. It is suitable for arresters of 35 kV and above used in stations and lines, or for use with three-phase combined overvoltage protection products.
The product has the dual functions of accumulating the number of operations and monitoring the current, and is an important basis for condition-based maintenance of arresters. With outdoor dial-type installation, it has a compact structure, clear reading and high reliability, and can replace conventional mechanical counters to upgrade the intelligent monitoring level of the network.

Operating instructions
1. The monitor shall be installed in series with the matching arrester at its earthing terminal, and the earthing resistance shall comply with the requirements of DL/T 621.
2. For detailed description and use of the monitor, please refer to our dedicated monitor instruction manual.
3. If the arrester is fitted with this monitor (with additional current monitoring function), the letters “JCQ” shall be added after its standard model designation. For example, HY5WS-17/50-JCQ indicates that a monitor has been added to the HY5WS-17/50 arrester.
4. When used together, it is recommended to install a shielded signal cable (twisted pair) leading to the control room for real-time upload of operation data. Used as described above, the JCQ-10 surge arrester on-line monitor can stably monitor the operating state of the arrester over a long period.
