Overview
The FZW28-12(FFK) series outdoor sectionalizing vacuum load switch is suitable for outdoor three-phase AC distribution systems with a rated voltage of 12kV and rated frequency 50Hz, used for switching load current and making short-circuit current. The FZW28-12(FFK) series outdoor sectionalizing vacuum load switch is applicable to substations, industrial and mining enterprises, and urban/rural networks for protection and control, automation distribution networks, and frequent-operation sites. This series is an operation and control switch for overhead-line distribution systems, available in several types. With prominent advantages such as being oil-free, simple in mechanism, reliable in performance and maintenance-free, it has been widely used to date. Combined with FDR-type fault detectors or RTU remote-terminal devices, it forms a very simple distribution automation system that can automatically locate overhead-line faults and isolate the faulty section. It meets the need to upgrade existing distribution switchgear in China toward oil-free and automated distribution equipment.

Functions
The switch provides the following functions: automatic locking of inter-phase short-circuit faults — when an inter-phase short circuit occurs on the user branch, the sectionaliser opens and locks immediately after the substation circuit breaker or recloser protection trips; after the substation recloses, other branch users on the feeder quickly restore supply; rapid fault-point location — when a user-branch fault causes the sectionaliser protection to operate, the responsible user loses power and reports the fault information, so the utility staff can troubleshoot on site via a handheld computer or communication module; automatic removal of single-phase earth faults — when a single-phase earth fault occurs on the user branch, the sectionaliser opens automatically, while other branch users at the substation and on the feeder do not perceive the fault. This switch can realize the following functions: instantaneous-trip protection, over-current protection, three-time reclosing, event recording, inrush-current prevention, zero-sequence protection, real-time clock, reclosing acceleration, real-time status query, intelligent handheld control, local/remote setting, active fault reporting, and GSM short-message function.
