Product Overview
The FXBW4-12/70 composite suspension insulator has a rated voltage of 12 kV and a rated mechanical load of 70 kN, and is intended for polluted areas, high mechanical tensile loads, long spans and compact lines.
The product is especially suitable for polluted areas, high mechanical tensile loads, long spans and compact lines. It features light weight, small size and breakage resistance, high torsional strength and strong explosion-proof performance, with mechanical loads from 50 kN to 210 kN.The FXBW4-12/70 composite suspension insulator has a structural height of 370 mm and an insulation distance of 200 mm, weighing only 1/6-1/9 of a porcelain insulator of the same voltage class.
Product Performance Advantages
- Superior electrical performance and high mechanical strength: the epoxy-glass-fibre pultruded rod inside has a bending strength 2 times that of ordinary steel and 8-10 times that of high-strength porcelain, effectively improving the reliability of safe operation.
- Good pollution resistance and strong anti-pollution-flashover capability: the wet withstand voltage and pollution withstand voltage are 2-2.5 times those of porcelain insulators of the same creepage distance, and no cleaning is required, allowing safe operation in heavily polluted areas.
- Small in size and light in weight: only 1/6-1/9 of porcelain insulators of the same voltage class; the light structure facilitates transport and installation.
- Excellent hydrophobicity: the silicone rubber sheds are highly hydrophobic, and the integral structure keeps the internal insulation dry, eliminating preventive insulation monitoring tests and cleaning, thus reducing routine maintenance work.
- Good sealing and strong erosion resistance: the housing material reaches TMA4.5 tracking-resistance class, with good ageing, corrosion and low-temperature resistance, suitable for areas from -40℃ to +50℃.
- Strong impact and vibration resistance: good anti-brittle and anti-creep behaviour, not easy to break, high bending and torsional strength, able to withstand internal pressure with strong explosion-proof performance; interchangeable with porcelain and glass insulators.
- Optimised shed profile: the shed geometry is optimised on aerodynamic principles and grading rings are properly configured to suppress leakage currents, protecting the silicone rubber sheds from arc erosion and extending the service life of the composite insulator.
- Overall performance superior to porcelain insulators: the composite insulator series surpasses porcelain insulators in both mechanical and electrical performance, with a large safety margin in operation, making it the upgraded product for power lines.

Product Structure & Features
The series consists of three parts: an epoxy-glass-fibre pultruded rod, silicone rubber sheds and metal fittings. The silicone rubber sheds are produced by integral injection moulding, which solves the key problem affecting the reliability of composite insulators - interfacial electrical breakdown. The rod-to-fitting connection uses a reliable crimping process supported by a fully automatic ultrasonic flaw detection system. The insulator is strong, good-looking, compact and light; the galvanised fittings resist rust, and the product is interchangeable with porcelain insulators. The structure is reliable and does not damage the core rod, allowing its mechanical strength to be fully exploited. In the FXBW4-12/70 composite suspension insulator, the injection-moulded silicone rubber housing combined with crimped fittings keeps the interfacial electrical performance stable.

- The shed design adopts a unique aerodynamic principle.
- Sheds and housing are moulded integrally.
- End sealing uses high-temperature vulcanised rubber applied under high pressure, achieving triple protection and reliable sealing at the fitting ends.
- Fitting connections use the internationally accepted crimping process.
- The galvanised layer of the fittings uses rare-earth-aluminium hot-dip galvanising, preventing zinc flaking during crimping.
- Housing thickness is greater than 5 mm and uniform, complying with IEC standards.
- The core rod is an ERC high-temperature reinforced acid-resistant rod.
- The fittings feature a slotted design with uniform groove thickness, eliminating point discharge.
- Produced from imported raw materials, with hydrophobicity reaching HC1 class.
